MAS Co-Living Residences

Project type

Residential

Location

MAS Fabric Park, Sri Lanka

The MAS Co-Living Residences were developed as part of the wider masterplan for MAS Fabric Park, a large private campus in Sri Lanka with factories, training facilities, recreation spaces and accommodation for employees.

Designed as a prototype for future residential buildings within the campus, this phase focused on shared living. The building is arranged around a planted courtyard, bringing light, greenery and natural ventilation into the centre of the project.

The units are compact and efficient, with private bedrooms, balconies, study corners and wardrobes. Shared bathrooms, tea and ironing areas, laundry, pantry and lounge spaces support daily communal life.

The design uses simple, durable and sustainable materials, with deep overhangs, cross ventilation and screened façades responding to the tropical climate. The planning is efficient but generous, creating a residence that feels calm, open and connected to the landscape.

It is a practical building, but with a strong sense of care — a model for shared living that is comfortable, dignified and pleasant.
