For the first UK outpost of Tokyo’s cult coffee brand, we were tasked with translating Omotesando Koffee’s quiet elegance into a new cultural context. Set in a compact 55 sqm space in Fitzrovia, London, the challenge was to deliver a fully immersive design that celebrates craft, flow, and intimacy.

We created a spatial journey that draws on traditional Japanese architecture—from a charred cedar entryway with granite stepping stones to a central “coffee cube” framed in ash wood joinery. Every surface was designed to reflect the brand’s Japanese roots while adapting to a fast-paced, urban setting. The layout separates service zones to highlight the ritual of coffee-making, mirroring the spirit of a tea ceremony.
